For those people who enjoy a bet, Monte Carlos casino is a real treat, even those who would not normally bet often wager 5 Euro to say they have gambled at Monaco. For the car lovers you will not be disappointed as there are prestige cars in abundance with Bentlys being almost common. Fancy a drink in the Café De Paris? Be prepared for the bill as it may be the most expensive coffee you ever drink, but hey you many never be back.
A visit to one of the French Riviera's perfume factories is next on the list about 30 minutes from Monaco on our way to Nice. The demonstration they do is very good and the prices are also very good so some can't resist the temptation. From here we take a beautiful drive along the Moyenne Corniche to Nice, queen of the Riviera.
This is one of those leisurely days on tour where you have the choice of participating in some activities or spending the whole day free. Some choose to have a sleep in and about half decided to come at 9 o'clock to the little hilltop village of St Paul De Vence.
If you didn't know about this place you might drive right by it and never realize what you just missed. It is one of France's most beautiful villages with cobble stoned streets, artists and shops. We walked through the village to the other side for views over the French Riviera coast and up to the maritime alps. From here everyone is free to filter back through the village at their own pace to shop or take in a coffee.
Back to Nice by 11.30 for free time to shop until 3pm when we take a spectacular drive on the 3 Corniche drives along the coast linking Nice with Monaco. We stopped to visit the hilltop coastal village of Eze which is similar to St Paul but with much better views. For those who came with me all the way to the top to the old destroyed castle, they were rewarded with spectacular views all the way along the French Riviera coastline.
